Individual families without household toilets were identified and supported with construction materials as loan for toilet construction. The pin-point site selections in the homestead areas were done involving beneficiaries especially women members of the family. The labour costs were borne by the beneficiary through both cash and kind and the loan amount against materials was repaid back through easy monthly installments. The repaid amount again recycled for other beneficiaries for similar purpose. Initiative for hygiene promotion was taken during follow up visits to each and individual families. The SHG members adopted the issue of hygiene promotion as agenda for discussion in their own monthly meetings, which created impact to a large extent. Besides; the hoarding, banner and posters were fixed in the strategic locations of the villages disseminating hygiene messages for the community people.
