Life becomes hard when one of the parents is not there to protect their children. Something similar occurred to Bilash. Bilash lost his father to cancer when he was very young, and following his father’s death, life became a little more challenging since his father’s treatment had left Bilash and his family in huge debt. Although Bilash continued his schooling at first, eventually he had to quit and begin supporting his mother in farming. His eldest brother moved to work in another district to help his family get out of debt.
Bilash has always shown great potential, as seen by his excellent academic performance. Sabuj Sangha staff got to know about his situation; they sensitized his mother and got him enrolled in the residential school founded by Sabuj Sangha in 2018 through the Village Pradhan to prevent the rising trend of child labor.
Bilash used to be very upset during his initial days at the residential school, since he had never lived without his mother, but gradually, as he became friends with his classmates and roommates, he started to enjoy his newfound love. By securing 75.3% in the 11th standard, Bilash is currently studying in the 12th standard at Krishnachandrapur High School. His favorite subject is English, and he enjoys reading fiction novels in his spare time. Bilash has high ambitions and aspires to be successful in life. He wants to work at Sabuj Sangha since it changed his life.
