Aligned with the FIFA Foundation Community Programme 2025, Sabuj Sangha organised the Republic Day Annual Sports Competitions on 26 January 2026 at its Nandakumarpur Campus, bringing together 262 participants aged 10–24 years. The event created a safe and inclusive platform where girls and boys engaged in diverse sports activities such as races, long jump, shot put, badminton, and team games, using sport as a tool for positive social change.
With strong participation of girls, the programme encouraged equal access to play, challenged gender stereotypes, and promoted confidence, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship among adolescents and youth. The joyful and participatory environment contributed to improved physical fitness, mental well-being, and social bonding, while strengthening social cohesion within the community.
Sharing his experience, Ranajit Mandal (16 years) said, “The Sports Day gave us a great chance to take part in different games in a safe and inclusive space. I really enjoyed participating, especially in shot put, which is my favourite event. Through these activities, I feel more confident and have learned the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. It motivates us to stay active and participate more in sports.”
The event reflects Sabuj Sangha’s commitment to leveraging sports for youth development, inclusion, and gender equality in alignment with the FIFA Foundation Community Programme 2025.
