A District Level Workshop was held on 20th December 2023, from 1:00 pm in the District Magistrate Office of East Medinipur, where small business women from 200 villages and about 100 Digital Sakhis were present. Various block and district level officials of East Medinipur were also present and the workshop was about digital and financial literacy. Digital Sakhi project is a joint initiative of Sabuj Sangha and L&T Finance, and has been implemented in 12 blocks of East Medinipur for the past 4 years, through which about 450 rural women have been educated through training and about 1000 small business women have been improve their skills.
In the last 4 years, through this program, about 8 lakh people of these 12 blocks have been spread knowledge about digital and financial literacy and increased their skills. Hon’ble Tanbir Afzal (District Magistrate, East Medinipur),Hon’ble Kiran Kadam (Chief Manager, CSR, L&T Finance), OC, Kanyashree/ Rupashree, WCD & SW, PD, DRDC, DSWO, Social Welfare, District Project Officer were present in this meeting. ICDS, District SHG & SE Officer, DDM, NABARD, ARCS, Tamluk, Protection Officer, DV Act, WCD & SW, DM & DC, Tamluk Sub – Division, Block Level, BDOs of Nandakumar & Tamluk Block, Hon’ble Dibyendu Govt. Retd. IAS, Advisory Council, Sabuj Sangha), Hon’ble Saradindu Banerjee (Vice President, Sabuj Sangha) and Hon’ble Ansuman Das (Secretary & Director, Sabuj Sangha) were also present in this meeting. Sub-Divisional Governor and Project Director, DRDC appreciated the project and gave their valuable comments.
