Celebration of International Women’s Day in East Midnapore
On 9th March 2023, Sabuj Sangha celebrated the International Women’s Day in East Midnapore District with the Digital Sakhis and the Women Entrepreneurs. The special was celebrated in Contai Town Hall, Contai sub-division from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. where around 500 Digital Sakhis and Women Entrepreneurs were present and Pragyananda Bhavan community hall at Mahishadol from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. where 1250 Digital Sakhis and Women Entrepreneurs were present.
The event was even brighter with the presence of some renowned dignitaries such as, the chairman of Contai Municipality as Chief Guest, Mr. Kiran Kadam, Chief Manager CSR of L&T Financial Services as Special Guest, Panchayat members and eminent educationists in Contai Town Hall and Block Development Officer (BDO) of Mahishadol, Ex-Counselor of Tamluk Municipality Sabhapati of Mahishadol block and other Panchayat Samity members in Pragyananda Bhavan community hall at Mahishadol. Mr. Saradindu Banerjee, Vice President of Sabuj Sangha, Mr. Bhabesh Chandra Mondal, treasurer of Sabuj Sangha, Mr. Ansuman Das, Director & Secretary of Sabuj Sangha and Mr. Arunabha Das, Senior Management Member of Sabuj Sangha were present both of these programs.
The event started with lighting the lamp and welcome speech by the Honorable Mr. Ansuman Das. The event followed by the speech of respected dignitaries. After that a panel discussion was held with chairmanship of Saradindu Banerjee, where he discussed about the importance of celebrating the Women’s Day. The event was followed by inauguration of different stalls given by the Digital Sakhis and Women Entrepreneurs. The Chairman of Contai Municipality and the Block Development Officer (BDO) of inaugurated the event’s stall. Through these stalls the Digital Sakhis and Women Entrepreneurs demonstrated their skills and expertise in business in front of all programme participant to encourage them for future entrepreneur.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Arunabha Das, Senior Management Team member of Sabuj Sangha.
